Certain fruits and vegetable have potent antiviral properties. They help to speed healing and recovery from viruses and lessen the severity. One of our favorites is garlic. Simple, potent and delicious!
Unlike bacterial infections, there’s no quick cure (like antibiotics) for viruses. They just hang on and on until we finally fight them off or they’ve run their course. But sometimes the virus just hangs out for so long that you wonder if you’ll ever be rid of it. Also, some serious conditions (think chronic fatigue, eczema, some forms of arthritis) can be caused or exacerbated by a lingering virus.
Adding garlic to juice is considered to be more beneficial than taking supplements. The body tends to absorb nutrients better from juice than from pills. Garlic can be juiced just like fruits and vegetables as an easy way to get garlic into the diet. Garlic, cayenne pepper, and citrus fruits can be used together in juicing recipes to help prevent and treat colds and flu.
The Antiviral Super Juice
1 clove of garlic
1 large bunch of kale
1 large piece of broccoli
Tip* When making a juice with garlic cloves, juice the garlic first so that the remaining ingredients will clear the garlic odor from the juicer.
