Summer Hydration

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy the sunshine and warm temperatures by getting outside and being more active!

It is also the time of year when high temperatures accelerate heat stroke and dehydration. It is vital to stay hydrated so that your cells, tissue and organs in your body can function correctly.

What are some things you can do to prevent dehydration? Try staying away from processed foods, alcohol, and sugar since they can act as diuretics. Also, make sure that you are drinking plenty of water, especially when exercising, and adding foods to your diet with high levels of water content, such as fruits and vegetables. So, what can you do when you get bored of plain ol’ water and need other nutrients for your body?

  • 2 medium Apples (Granny Smith)
  • 2 large stalks of Celery
  • 1/2 Cucumber
  • Lettuce (romaine) – 2 cups
